Begonia velloziana - easy epiphytic species!

3- inch pot.  Rare, but easy!  I grow my large plant in a shallow glazed pottery bowl, and water like I would a succulent.  Leaves are 6 - 8 inches long at most.  The extremely thick rhizomes creep along the surface of the media and will eventually crawl over the rim of the pot.  It is rather slow growing, so not a plant that needs a lot of wrangling back into it's pot.  I also don't encoutage it with lots of fertilizer, either.

New foliage has a red edge - undersides of leaves and stems are covered in round crystals that rub off easily when touched.  

I've grown this in low light and medium light - adjacent to the Orchid lights, but not under them directly.
